Hi Everyone!
I'm trying to put together an iconpackage and couldn't be having a more difficult time doing it. Everytime I save the package the icons lose their order, internet will be the recycle bin, "My documents" will be a file of some type, the order is different everytime but always shuffled beyond recognition. And that's if I can even save them in the first place, I get corrupted themes that won't even load alot of the time too. Anybody have any idea what's happening here, and if there is a way to fix it? I'm using the latest build but have had these issues for a while now. Thanks for any help!

I have the same problem. Icon packager is in serious need of some love from the support team.

I have had the same problem - also many custom file icons don't get saved when I save a theme.
I found that I had to save the theme as a new name each time or the icons would be "shuffled" as you describe.
Also the recent documents folder icon would never be saved.
very frustrating and I don't have a solution apart from waiting for an update to the software

I found if I "save" a package I don't close it right away because when it asks if you want to apply changes is when the icons are shuffled. So I save the package, then I will go in and change one of of the minor file icons and hit apply and then everything is fine. However, a lot of the icons do NOT stay changed when you change to another package and try to go back to the old package -- it is a pain!!

Yes, I get the same problems as you guys, which is really, REALLY bothering me...
Another thing happening to me is that, when creating a theme, some icons get all "edgy" (rough edges) after saving the package. Not all of them, and for an icon, it may be the 64x64 icon that is edgy while the other resolutions are fine...
When reapplying the icon, it may come back fine (or not), and if it does, then another icon someplace else is getting edgy...
again!
Anyway, I tested a package that had edgy parts on WindowsXP Family edition SP2 on Windows XP Server, and there, behold, no edgy icon whatsoever, but some shuffled icons here and there (hence coming back to the problem above).
I think weaker people would have commited suicide after all that, but I'm a tough guy...
So there you go: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Startdock guys, please? We are creating for your application, it takes an incredible amount of time, we pay to use IconPackager even though we are creating packages for it, so it would be fair to fix those annoying problems.

Yes, it is a problem, but there is a work around for it:
First, select the icon.
Second, select the icon "again".
For some reason it won't "see" it the first time. The second time it will.
It has always worked for me.
I know it might be a pain, selecting each icon twice, but it does work.

It won't let me edit my coment:
That work around is for package builder.

Z71, what do you mean exactly?
=> Click on the icon to change in package builder, then click again and then change it? or...
=> Click on the icon to change, then change it, then select it again and change it again?
I'm confused... (who said I'm dumb? I heard it!!!)

To clarify:
In package builder, click on the icon you want to change and select the one you created.
You will notice that it changes the default to yours.
Then repeat the above again.
So, in essence, you are selecting it twice.
For some odd reason, sometimes, it doesn't recognize the new icon right off.
It's always worked for me. Or it has for the past 3 or 4 years.

Oh, okay Z71, I'll try that for the next package I'll work on, thank you for the input!
